BRP announced today the addition of FLW Walleye Tour veteran Pete Harsh to Team Evinrude, the company’s elite professional fishing team.
Harsh, the 2008 FLW Walleye Angler of the Year and a Sauk Centre, Minn. native, has amassed more than $800,000 in career winnings and looks to add to his success in 2011 by relying on his 200-hp Evinrude E-TEC-powered Ranger 620T fishing package.
In good company, Harsh joins a well-respected and successful group of Team Evinrude Walleye anglers, including the reigning FLW Angler of the Year Paul Meleen and Chris Gilman, the defending FLW Walleye Champion. In fact, Team Evinrude anglers captured seven out of the top 10 positions at the 2010 Championship and all three 2010 Angler of the Year awards.
“Pete Harsh is a great addition to Team Evinrude,” said Steve Laham, vice president, Sales, Marketing and After-Sales Service for Evinrude. “As a professional angler, Pete depends on his engine to perform at every tournament. His switch to Evinrude makes a strong statement for our brand and his confidence in powering with Evinrude E-TEC.”
BRP’s Evinrude E-TEC engine line-up now includes 98 engine models from 15- to 300- horsepower. With no scheduled maintenance for three years or 300 hours, the Evinrude
E-TEC engine allows anglers to spend more quality time on the water. Visit www.evinrude.com for more information and follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BRPEvinrude.
Evinrude to Offer Contingency Awards to FLW Walleye Tour Pros
Winning has its perks. Evinrude also announced today that anglers powering their boats with an Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine in the FLW Walleye Tour will be eligible for contingency awards in 2011.
Contingency prize money will be paid to anglers placing in the top 10 of each FLW Walleye tournament, including the Championship. Pro anglers can receive up to $8,000 of contingency money for first place in any FLW Walleye-sanctioned event. Co-anglers are also eligible for up to a $2,000 bonus if they take first place in any event. The pot is sweetened for the year-end championship - $15,000 in contingency money goes to the winning pro angler and $5,000 is awarded to the co-angler.
“We are proud to continue our support of FLW Outdoors and the many anglers who choose Evinrude by investing $250,000 in additional prize money,” said Christopher Berg, Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning for Evinrude. “Evinrude E-TEC owners are very loyal to the brand, and we want to reward those who choose our engines while fishing the most competitive Walleye tour in the United States.”

BoatUS Smart Phone App Will Get You Home When Your Boat Won't
When your boat breaks down on the water or runs out of gas, calling for an on-the-water tow is simple. The hard part, sometimes, is being able to tell the BoatUS towing fleet precisely where to find you, which can delay a safe tow home.
Now, Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) offers the only smart phone "App" that helps you call for a tow in a hurry and also adds helpful location and tracking features just for boaters, sailors and anglers. And you don't have to be a BoatUS or BoatUS Angler member to download the free App.

New Fuel Primer Bulb From Larand Products Beats Tighter EPA/CARB Emission Standard, Offers Superior Performance
As of January 1, 2011, fuel primer bulbs for outboards must comply with US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations limiting carbon emissions to 15 grams per square meter, per day. A new primer bulb from Larand Products exceeds the EPA/CARB standard and also offers performance and reliability superior to other OEM and aftermarket bulbs.
The new primer bulb allows emissions of less than 6 grams per square meter, per day, beating the standard by almost 70 percent. Made from a durable compound that stands up to harsh weather conditions and maintains excellent flexibility in low temperatures (in lab tests, the new bulb pumped 20 percent more fuel than the leading OEM bulb). Unlike products that rely on mechanical pumps, this primer bulb has no seals that can leak fuel.
• Familiar look and feel
• 70% less fuel permeation than new standard allows
• Durable and weather resistant
• Leak-proof design
• Excellent low-temperature flexibility
• Superior pumping efficiency
For more information about the new EPA/CARB compliant marine primer bulb and other Larand products, visit www.larandproducts.com or call 1+877.786.0606 (toll free in the US) or 1+954.977.6333.

Evinrude Launches Retail Promotion
BRP launches a new retail incentive promotion for its Evinrude outboard engines brand today. The new program, "Season's BEST Boat Show Sales Event," offers participating Evinrude dealers an aggressive sales closing tool designed to deliver added peace of mind for boat show shoppers.
Qualified Evinrude E-TEC purchases between January 1, 2011 and April 15, 2011 receive a FREE 5-year factory backed limited warranty (3-year BRP factory warranty PLUS an additional 2 years B.E.S.T. coverage). In addition, if a consumer repowers their existing boat with a qualifying Evinrude E-TEC engine between January 1, 2011 and April 15, 2011, they will receive up to an $800 discount off rigging equipment - which means additional retail savings.
"We want to continue offering our dealers effective retail programs to drive dealer traffic," stated Christopher Berg, Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning for Evinrude. "This latest retail offer will give our dealers the necessary selling incentives to boost retail activity at the upcoming boat shows," he concluded.
The new retail program is supported by a full print and on-line advertising and media campaign. Dealers are provided a complete package of point-of-purchase materials to advertise the promotion on the showroom floor and at boat shows with no dealer contribution required.
