Buckeye Lures Signs Marty Stone

Buckeye Lures is entering their 10th successful year with the same fundamental premise that put them in the bait business a decade ago: Quality lures built for fishermen by fishermen, using only the best components available. Adding Stone to the pro staff is in good keeping with that basic philosophy.

Jeremy Altman, President of Buckeye Lures, was the first to welcome Stone aboard the Buckeye Pro Staff, which includes other well-known pros such as Davy Hite, Anthony Gagliardi and Tom Mann, Jr.

“We’re excited that Marty has teamed up with us,” Altman said. “He is a perfect fit for the Buckeye brand because of his reputation as a quality person, his industry expertise, his solid fishing resume and his strong stage and media presence.”

Stone is a 15-year BASS pro and two-time winner on the BASS Elite Series. His interest in Buckeye recently intensified when he discovered the extent of the company’s product line.

“Buckeye is best known for their innovative Spot Remover series of jigheads,” Stone said. “But when I found out just how many other quality products they make, including jigs, spinnerbaits and the best wakebaits available, I was floored by the company’s overall arsenal. They are off the charts in terms of craftsmanship, attention to detail and a desire to bring only the best products to market. I can’t wait to go to battle armed with Buckeye Lures on the Elite Series.”

Stone’s first contribution to the Buckeye line of jigs will be his own custom colors.

“The design and construction of Buckeye’s jigs are perfect, from the tie-point to the hook to the overall balance,” Stone said. “The only things I can suggest are some unique skirt colors that work well in other parts of the country.”

“That’s the kind of insight Marty brings to the table that we can capitalize on,” Altman said. “He fishes from Florida to California and from New York to Texas. His experience on different fisheries across America can be a tremendous help to us.”

Altman also noted that Stone’s own innovative website provides an opportunity to expand product awareness in other parts of the country.

“Martystone.com is linked directly to Tacklewarehouse.com and Tackle Warehouse is one our biggest dealers,” Altman said. “So if Marty catches fish on one of his custom-colored Mop jigs out west or on the Great Lakes and writes about it on his website then folks can buy them at Tackle Warehouse; it’s a win-win for every body.”
