Jay Yelas New President of C.A.S.T.

Jim Owens, executive director of the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation, announced recently that new officers have been elected to the organization's board of directors. Professional angler Jay Yelas of Corvallis, Ore., will take the helm as president; Fort Worth, Texas businessman Troy Moncrief will assume the role of vice president and Seattle, Wash. architect Patrick McBride will retain the position of secretary/treasurer.

“It is an honor to be president and I look forward to continuing our great heritage of serving the underprivileged youth of America through fishing events around the country,” said Yelas

More than 40 C.A.S.T. events have been scheduled across the country for 2010 and as many as 25 more could be added to the schedule.

“I’ve been organizing an event for 10 years now," said Moncrief, “and each year it brings tears to my eyes to see kids put their challenges aside to have the time of their lives."

Established in 1991, the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation is dedicated to providing inclusion in quality outdoor recreational activities to disabled, disadvantaged and at‐risk youth populations through the sports of fishing and boating. To date, over 50,000 families have taken part in C.A.S.T. events held in communities across the county. For more information, visit www.CastForKids.org.
