Daniel Atkins Wins BFL Event on Lake Keowee

Daniel Atkins of Seneca, S.C., caught a five-bass limit weighing 11 pounds, 7 ounces Saturday to win $4,915 in the BFL Savannah River Division tournament on Lake Keowee.

Anthony Brooks of Cornelia, Ga., weighed five bass for 10-4 to take second place and $2,458 in the Boater Division; and in a three-way tie for third were John Bolton of Central, S.C., Randy Childers of Anderson, S.C., and Steven James of Easley, S.C., each with five bass, 10-0, $1,256.

Rounding out the top 10 boaters in the BFL Savannah River Division event on Lake Keowee:

Childers winning co-angler

Lesley Childers of Anderson, S.C., caught a five-bass limit weighing 10 pounds, 14 ounces Saturday to take first place and win $2,458 in the Co-angler Division.

Coming up

The next BFL Savannah River Division tournament is scheduled for March 27 at Lake Russell in Eberton Ga. The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers from each of the five divisional tournaments will qualify for the Regional Championship at Lake Seminole in Bainbridge, Ga., Oct. 21-23. There boaters will compete for a chance to win a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
