BFL North Carolina Opener Rescheduled for March 6

The BFL North Carolina Division season opener, originally scheduled for Feb. 13 on Lake Norman, has been rescheduled for March 6.

For those already entered in this tournament, no action is necessary, as your entry will be rolled over to the rescheduled event. If you have not yet entered this tournament, there is still time to get in on the action and start accumulating points toward qualifying for a Regional Championship. Priority entries will be accepted through Feb. 23.

The tournament, launching out of Midway Marina, features a top boater award of $8,000, including a $2,000 Ranger Cup bonus, and a top co-angler award of $3,000, based on a 200-boat field. Evinrude E-TEC owners fishing the Boater Division can also earn an additional $1,000 through the Evinrude Contingency Program. The entry fee is $200 for boaters and $100 for co-anglers.

If you finish the season ranked in the top 40, you will advance to a no-entry-fee Regional Championship to fish for a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower outboard and a Chevy pickup as a boater or a Ranger boat as a co-angler. The top six boaters and six co-anglers from the regional will advance to the no-entry-fee BFL All-American presented by Chevy for the chance to win top awards of $130,000 and $60,000, respectively. Additionally, All-American champions advance to the no-entry-fee Forrest Wood Cup for a shot at winning as much as $600,000 as a boater and $60,000 as a co-angler.
