Xcite Baits, a rapidly growing manufacturer of "Texas-sized" soft plastics and terminal tackle, announced today that it has added Grant Goldbeck and Brian Clark to the company's pro staff.
Goldbeck, who is about to begin his sixth season on the Bassmaster Elite Series tournament trail, recently moved from Maryland to Boerne, Texas, to be closer to noted big-bass factories like Amistad and Falcon, where outsized plastics typically rule the day.
"The great thing about the Xcite plastics is their consistency," Goldbeck said. "Every bait you pull out of the package is exactly right and exactly the same. I've been using them on tour for about two years now and they've really helped me out, especially on places like Kentucky Lake, Clear Lake and Clarks Hill."
"He's very versatile," Xcite president Lloyd Walker said of Goldbeck. "He's demonstrated that he's dangerous with our big plastics but he's also extremely talented with finesse presentations, and we'll be coming out with some products to showcase those strengths in the near future."
Clark, of Haltom City, Texas, fished the Elite Series in 2008 and 2009. He is a known force on the lakes of north Texas, with several Angler of the Year titles in local trails to his credit. He won the 2007 BASS Central Invitational on Lake Texoma and was the runner-up in that same event this past October. Clark will be fishing the BASS Southern and Central Opens this year, along with as many local events as his schedule allows.
"I'm really excited to align myself with a company that is experiencing a lot of growth," Clark said. "Lloyd is constantly tinkering. He pays attention to all of the small details and everything he makes is a true original."
"Everybody in north Texas knows Brian," said Walker. "He's dangerous on all of the lakes up here and we expect that he'll be fishing nationally again in a year or two."
"I've been using Xcite products for two years," Clark continued. "I absolutely love to sight fish and the X-Lock is the best product I've ever used for that purpose."
Xcite Baits, established by Lloyd Walker in 2005, produces fishing tackle aimed at catching big bass. From our X-Lock shakey head for large plastics, to our Raptor Tail, Raptor Craw and Raptor Chunk, all the way up to the 10 1/2-inch Maximus worm, if you want to catch bigger bass than the competition, look to Xcite. Our products caught two Texas ShareLunkers in 2010. Look for four new products in 2011.
