It's time for the Gran Finale, the regular season ending, Pro/Am tournament of the 2009-2010 WON BASS season— Oct. 22-23 at the Delta.
Our fantastic sponsors at Nitro Boats and Mercury Outboards will be awarding a fully rigged Nitro Z-7 boat / Mercury 175 HP ProXS motor package to the Pro division winner of this upcoming WON BASS Delta Pro Am. You heard that right, for your $350 Pro entry fee a new boat will go to the winner of this last WON BASS event of the season. It is our goal to thank our fishermen for their participation, and their support of our great sponsors.
In addition, another Nitro Z-7 / 175 HP Mercury ProXS boat will be awarded at this event to whoever takes the coveted Angler of the Year title. So two fully igged boats will likely be determined at this season ending Gran Finale ( If the season race ends in a tie it will be broken at the WESTERN CLASSIC).
This impressive top prize package is made possible due to our tremendous WON BASS sponsors - Nitro Boats, Bass Pro Shops and Mercury Outboards. A single Pro angler could conceivably win two boat and motor packages at the same event, and every Pro at this Delta tournament will be in the running for one of these exceptional Z-7 boat packages. It's been a long time since a western regional ProAM feautured a boat package for a first place prize finish, so we hope you show our sponsors you appreciate their efforts by participating if you can.
And don’t be surprised if the fishing isn't also incredible and some truly benchmark bags are brought to the scales. The fall bite on the Delta can be phenomenal, and 5-fish limits in the 25- and even 30-plus-pound range are not unheard of. Recently, the team of Mark Daniels and Jamond Andrews Jr., who are our 2010 Delta Region Angler of the Year Team Champions, weighed in a bag of 30.87 pounds, with a kicker big fish weighing in at 10.52. Also, a recent Delta Hook Line and Sinker tournament held on Sept. 26 produced bag limits in the 25- to 28-pound range. These are just a couple of the signs indicating the big girls are on the prowl.
So to say we may be in for some great limits and excitement at our WON BASS Pro Circuit Gran Finale on Oct. 22nd and 23rd at the Delta, is a dramatic understatement.
