Shane Lineberger Wins BFL Lake Guntersville Regional Championship

Boater Shane Lineberger of Lincolnton, N.C., caught 13 bass weighing 42 pounds, 3 ounces during the three day BFL Lake Guntersville Regional Championship which was held Oct. 14-16. Linberger won a Chevy truck and Ranger boat along with a trip to the BFL All-American for his efforts. On the final day he was fishing grass north of Salty Creek with spooks and crankbaits in chartreuse and white.

The top six anglers also qualified for the BFL All-American and are:

2nd: Robert Walser, Lexington, N.C., 15 bass, 41-14, $1,500
3rd: Greg Rikard, Leesville, S.C., 15 bass, 40-14, $1,100
4th: Sean Skey, Sumter, S.C., 12 bass, 40-12, $1,000
5th: Rick Bowen, Jackson, Tenn., 15 bass, 38-10, $900
6th: John Hopkins, Hendersonville, Tenn., 12 bass, 38-6, $800

The remaining top 10 are:

7th: Michael Maxfield, Hanahan, S.C., 15 bass, 37-11, $700
8th: Terry Steele, Sparta, Tenn., 14 bass, 37-6, $650
9th: Wesley Helton, Calhoun, Tenn., 13 bass, 37-1, $600
10th: Jarrod Simon, Hendersonville, Tenn., 13 bass, 34-8, $550

Greg Gilley, Boaz, Ala., caught a total of nine bass weighing 24 pounds, 15 ounces Oct. 14-16 to win a Ranger boat along with a trip to the BFL All-American in the Co-angler Division. On the final day Gilley was using crankbaits in shallow water south of Brown Creek to earn his victory.

The top six co-anglers also qualified for the BFL All-American and are:

3rd: Dan Basham, Louisville, Ky., 10 bass, 24-4, $550
4th: Lincoln Bowen, Crothersville, Ind., 11 bass, 24-1, $500
5th: Kyle Radake, Cape Girardeau, Mo., seven bass, 20-10, $450
6th: Tony McVey, Chilhowie, Va., six bass, 18-2, $400

The remaining top 10 are:

7th: Brandon Suggs, Sparta, Tenn., six bass, 17-7, $350
8th: Bryan New, Belmont, N.C., six bass, 15-15, $325
9th: Brandon Tramel, Smithville, Tenn., five bass, 15-14, $300
10th: Steve Kelley Jr., Felicity, Ohio, six bass, 14, $275
