Earth Sports & Army Bass Anglers Join Forces to Raise $25,000 for Veteran Outdoors

Earthsports.com, a new, 24/7 online community designed for avid anglers worldwide, and ArmyBassAnglers have joined forces to raise $25,000 for Veteran Outdoors to take wounded soldiers fishing, help them participate in professional fishing tournaments with Veteran Outdoor Pro Staffer/ArmyBassAnglers Pro MAJ Cody Roberson, and go on exclusive high-adventure outings just for them, all while coming together on Earthsports.com to share their fishing experiences.

“The fundraiser has to be the simplest fundraiser ever! All anyone has to do is merely sign up for an Earth Sports account at www.earthsports.com," says Roberson. "It's completely free, and Earth Sports will donate $1 to Veterans Outdoors for every person who signs up, up to $25,000, just becoming a member. It’s that simple and what an awesome cause."

Launched by Houston-based Earth Sports, LLC, Earthsports.com offers the opportunity for North America’s 60 million anglers to discover everything they need to realize their fishing fantasies. The new web-based community combines the attributes of popular social networks with the information and insights anglers need to make their mark on the water. Like other social networks such as Facebook, Linkedin and MySpace, there is no charge for anglers to join Earthsports.com.

“We believe Earthsports.com has fielded the newest and most efficient weapon on the battle field in the sport fishing industry,” says Roberson. “We’re dedicated to helping Veterans Outdoors in their Mission and Earth Sports has armed us with a totally new weapon to give us that tactical advantage. Not only will this provide ArmyBassAnglers with new capabilities to support such organizations as Veteran Outdoors, Earth Sports will finally bring the angling community under one umbrella in the sport fishing industry. Like us, Earthsports.com is dedicated to innovation and creating a new ecosystem where avid military anglers — our supporters — can express their passion for fishing and their passion for the Service Member. Earth Sports makes a great combat multiplier to the ArmyBassAngler’s mission to 'SUPPORT.DEFEND.FISH.'"

Designed to offer a highly personalized online experience, Earthsports.com users share, store and customize their profile page on Earthsports.com with information about themselves and their fishing preferences, including fishing zones (freshwater, coastal, offshore), fishing styles (wade, fly, boat, pier, jetty, etc.) and the types of fish they enjoy targeting (bass, musky, tarpon, redfish, snook, offshore, striper, panfish, etc.).

Users can further personalize their Earthsports.com page by including big catch photos and videos, maintaining a personal event calendar and creating their own blog to share their fishing experiences and opinions with other Earthsports.com users. When a user customizes his or her Earthsports.com page, they immediately begin to connect with other like-minded fishing enthusiasts, pros, guides and manufacturers.

"Through our user-friendly features, Earthsports.com connects avid anglers through the passions they share for a particular type of fishing style, location or species,” said Randy Bayne, the founder and CEO of Earthsports.com. “Our social media platform also allows us to connect avid anglers based on other interests such as their enthusiasm for a certain college or university, which many avid anglers hold dear. And not only does Earth Sports create such incredible opportunities in the fishing community; ArmyBassAnglers allows us the opportunity to demonstrate our support of our great Service Men and Women who have sacrificed so much. It is truly an honor to join forces with ArmyBassAnglers to contribute funds to support their efforts with Veteran Outdoors.”

Complementing a user’s personal profile page, Earthsports.com offers a powerful guide and pro angler finder, a forum for anglers to share information, a new product showcase for Earthsports.com users to get the latest on fishing and tackle products, fishing reports and news feeds.

“At Earthsports.com,” Roberson adds, “they aim to keep fishermen connected through the web and their mobile devices to provide them a 24/7 link to the millions of other passionate outdoor enthusiasts who want to share their experiences and to feed their passion for fishing. With committed support from Earth Sports, we aim to raise $25,000 to support Veteran Outdoors - HOOAH!”
