For lure manufacturers growth only comes from angler demand. Ima LURES has always catered to the needs and wishes of
anglers and this philosophy has fueled another year of growth in the USA market. Ima Lures is grateful for this support and is working hard to maintain this customer loyalty. Spring of 2010 saw the arrival of the topwater Big Stik, a high-tech lunker-killer that walks, pops and spits-and catches just about anything that swims. Ima quality shows through with its thru-wire construction, heavier slit rings and quality hooks. If that wasn’t enough, ima introduced its snack sized Flit 100, a smaller year round jerkbait. It suspends at the 4-foot mark making it particularly effective in grass lakes.
While ima continues its work on two new models for early 2011 release (ima square bill produced by BASS ELITE Angler Bill
Lowen and deep diving crank), they are not finished refining their line-up for 2010. ima is adding 25% more skus in summer
2010 to its already exciting line-up of lures. The expansion will be targeting new natural colors and previously exclusive Japanese colors. Pro-staffer and biologist Michael Murphy has been particularly involved in this process. “ Matching regional baitfish as well as worldwide baitfish is essential for competitive and weekend anglers alike”, started Murphy, “as long as I’m involved that will be an ongoing process”.
Ima is adding Bone and Blue Back Herring to its Skimmer model while the Rock n Vibe will get Ghost Ayu, Power Blue, and Water Bug. The Flit 120 will add Ghost Tennessee Shad, Pro Blue, and Phantom Craw. The Shaker is not left out getting Chartreuse Shad, Hot Crawfish and Double Cheeseburger. Bone is added to the Rattlin’ Roumba.
Three different groups asked for one specific color in all models and ima is happy to oblige. Custom Lure painters and anglers who want custom lures as well as clear water fisherman all want clear unpainted lures. “These are being made in limited quantities and will go fast”, concluded Murphy.
