Secret Weapon Lures® signed a sponsorship deal with professional bass angler Preston Clark of Palatka, Florida. Clark will help the company grow its reputation as an innovative manufacturer of premium, high performance fresh- and saltwater sportfishing tackle.
Clark was selected as one of five professional anglers to compete in February at the 2010 EURO Bass Cup, a bass tournament associated with the International Fair of Lisbon. He and his American teammates will also be giving demonstrations and fishing seminars at that event. Clark said, “Secret Weapon’s innovative designs and creative engineering are going to create a sensation over there and will help me stay one step ahead of my competition.”
Like most Team USA members, Clark has never wet a line in Pego do Altar, a deep, rocky reservoir near the town of Alcacer do Sal, Portugal. The name “Preston Clark” brings many accomplishments to the minds of avid bass fans. His 2006 Bassmaster Classic big fish record—an 11-pound 10-ounce largemouth—stands to this day. He cemented his reputation as an innovator by using a fiberglass vaulting pole to push his boat in the shallow waters of West Lake Tohopekaliga and the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes at the 2006 Classic. Weeks later, Clark broke Dean Rojas’ heavyweight record at the Santee Cooper Showdown with an incredible 115 pounds and 15 ounces.
