Billy McCaghren Joins Talon Series Custom Lures

The 2009 season was a remarkable one for Mayflower, Ark. pro Billy McCaghren. His season, which included a 3rd place finish at the Genuity River Rumble on the Mississippi River out of Fort Madison, Iowa, garnered the attention of Talon Series Custom Lures, a Milam, Tex. based lure manufacturer who added McCaghren to their National Fishing Team.

The 36-year-old pro performed like a veteran in his rookie season on the Bassmaster Elite Series. His on the water performance earned him a trip to the 2010 Bassmaster Classic at Lay Lake next week; his first. It also earned him the 2009 Bassmaster Elite Series Rookie of the Year award.

“I’m excited and looking forward to the opportunity to work with Talon Lures,” said McCaghren. “The Elite Series is highly competitive, and I’m always looking for any available advantage, any little detail that will give me an edge. Talon Series baits will give me that advantage with a top-quality, custom product that’s built with attention to even the smallest details.”

Talon Series Custom Lures is known for producing products that are as functional as they are cosmetically appealing. Their product lines, which includes everything from stand up shaky heads, to jigs for structure and flipping, their Shibui Ookii Jigs and high quality Shibui Spinnerbaits, will become a major part of the Arkansas pro’s arsenal.

Andi Sanders, the owner of Talon Series Custom lures is dedicated to producing the best lures available, and she welcomes the addition of McCaghren to their team.

“We’re so excited to welcome Billy to our Team Talon family," Sanders said. "This is a wonderful opportunity for Talon to work with an angler of Billy’s caliber. We are proud to have him represent our Talon and Shibui brands at the Elite Series level and look forward to a long and productive relationship.”
