2010 Poor Girls Billfish Tournament results

The Poor Girls Billfish Tournament celebrated its 21st year as a favorite all female Islamorada deep sea fishing tournament. The Islamorada fishing tournament took place February 17, 2010. The kick-off event and awards dinner were held at Snapper's Restaurant in Key Largo.

With a 21-year history of being a low-entry-fee tournament, the event attracted 53 boats and 144 anglers. The charity tournament benefited local organizations such as the Matecumbe Historical Trust and Caring for Cats.

Congratulations to the first place winners: Team Relentless - Captain Paul Ross fishing Diane Aimefon, Tonyia Rounds, Tammy Gautier. The team released four sailfish. Second place honors went to the Mondongo with three sailfish caught by Lynda Gargano and Tanya Sambile. Third place was claimed with three fish awarded on time to Golddigger with angler Melissa Jackson, Kristan Saenger and Meghan Fazio. The Grand Champion angler on the Mondongo was Lynda Gargano. First runner up on the Relentless Tammy Gautier and second runner up on the Goldigger to Kristan Saenger. Largest Dolphin Aces High Melissa Hill 6.3 lbs, Largest Tuna Blue Heaven 19.9 lbs Shannon Stanley and Largest Kingfish 16.0 lbs Snapshot angler Kim Campbell.
